In our previous post we discussed the human immune system and how the body can be a host to parasites. The immune system is important, but we need to look at other aspects of maintaining all systems healthy.

The body's total blood supply system needs to be as close as possible to 100% oxygen saturation. Cancer cannot live in a highly oxygenated environment.

According to many health researchers, total healing of chronic illness takes place only when and if the blood is restored to a normal, slightly alkaline pH (potential of hydrogen). The magnitude of meaning behind this research is of incredible importance to someone who is fighting a disease, overcoming an illness, or just desiring to feel better. Human blood stays in a very narrow pH range right around 7.3 to 7.5. Below or above this range means symptoms and disease.

But wait a minute – maybe you are wondering what pH is, well here you go.

pH measures the balance between positively and negatively charged ions in the body fluids, i.e. blood, urine and saliva.

The pH of urine can range from an extremely unhealthy low of 4.5 to a high of 8.5. A high pH value may indicate the body is over buffering to compensate for a physiological system that is too acidic. The hydrochloric acid in the stomach is required for digestion and high acidic levels in the body actually inhibit the proper production of stomach acids. When the body pH is too acidic the body's response is to compensate by secreting less acidic fluids and a shortage of proper stomach acid is the result. The ultimate result of low pH is bad digestion which results in poor absorption of the nutrients supplied by the food.

Balance is the key. Too alkaline is as undesirable as too acidic (though easier to tolerate). In a pH balanced body, urine is slightly acid in the morning (after fasting), with a pH range of  6.5 – 7.0,  generally becoming more alkaline, pH = 7.3 to 7.5, with a high of 8.0, by evening as the body digests food and releases electrolytes.

The concept of acid alkaline imbalance as the cause of disease is not new. In 1933 a New York doctor named William Howard Hay published a ground-breaking book, "A New Health Era" in which he maintains that all disease is cause by autointoxication (or "self-poisoning") due to acid accumulation in the body:

    Here are the ranges:

Unhealthy pH ~ 6.5 or below – To much acid
    Caution range pH     ~ 6.5 to 7.3
    Normal pH   ~ desired: 7.3 to 7.5 : maximum: 8.0
     Caution range pH  ~ 8.0 to 8.5
Unhealthy pH ~ 8.5 and above – To much alkaline

Super B15 Complex High Potency Metabolic Aid's research indicates that it increases the oxygen efficiency of the entire body. Whenever blood is oxygenated it improves circulation which is the key to assimilation of nutrients provided by food and supplements. Deprive cells of 60% of their oxygen and they will turn cancerous.   Check this out > The Prime Cause and Prevention of Cancer

The second supplement addition to metabolic therapy Pak 2 is:  Threonic Vitamin C.   Threonic Vitamin C is a nature-identical formulation that combines the benefits of buffered vitamin C (ascorbate) with other antioxidants to create a product that specifically enhances ascorbate absorption, especially via the important glucose transport pathways.

"In this study we investigated the cellular absorption rates, antioxidant and free radical scavenging activity of vitamin C-lipid metabolites. The absorption was measured in a human lymphoblastic cell line using a spectrophotometric technique." Medical Science Monitor

One of the most significant findings involves the unique absorption abilities of threonic acid – a metabolite of ascorbic acid. An article published in the  October 2007 Medical Science Monitor provided some of the most convincing evidence of the compound's unique absorption abilities. A double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study concluded that threonic acid had two very beneficial characteristics, First, it was shown to increase the amount of vitamin C that it is taken up by the immune system's T-cells. Additionally, threonic acid was shown to increase vitamin C's overall potency within the cells.

The known benefits of non-acidic vitamin C and metabolites are combined with substances that stimulate vitamin C transport into cells, enhancing absorption into both the bloodstream and immune cells, while stimulating utilization by immune cells.
